Working offline and syncing

How Breedscape saves every record on your phone with no signal in the whelping shed, syncs it to your account, and moves it to a new phone.

Breedscape is built for the whelping shed, where a signal is never guaranteed.

Everything saves on your phone first

Whatever you record is saved on your phone the moment you tap save, whether or not you have a connection. You never have to wait for the network, and nothing is lost if the signal drops.

Syncing to your account

When you're online, Breedscape syncs your records with your account on its own:

  • When you open the app, and when you come back to it.
  • When your connection returns.
  • A few seconds after you make a change.
  • Every minute while the app is open.

To check on it, go to Settings → Data. You'll see when your records last synced, or a note that the last sync failed and will be retried. Tap Sync now to sync straight away.

If the same record was changed in two places, the most recent change wins.

Changing phones

Your records live in your account, not just on your phone. On a new phone, install Breedscape and sign in, and your dogs, litters, contacts and records download, along with your photos and documents.

Signing out

Signing out removes your Breedscape data from the phone. It stays safe in your account and comes back when you sign in again. Before you sign out, make sure you've been online, so your latest changes have synced.
